On February 21, 2025, the Election Conference and the 1st Committee Meeting of the 2nd Session of the SPRO Committee under the China Diving and Salvage Association (CDSA) were successfully concluded in Tianjin. The event was attended by President Song Jiahui, Secretary-General Chen Liping and Deputy Secretary-General Zhan Qianhai of CDSA, alongside Deputy General Manager Wang Wei of CNOOC Energy Technology & Services Limited (CNOOC EneTech), General Manager Qian Jufeng of the Safety Production Department of CNOOC EnerTech, and Deputy General Manager Zhang Haibin of CNOOC EnerTech Safety & Environmental Protection Co., Ltd. and representatives from 69 CDSA members.
Following the election, Captain Tony Huang, General Manager of T&A Marine, was successfully elected as the Deputy Director of the 2nd Session of the SPRO Committee, in recognition of his outstanding contributions and industry influence in the field of ship pollution prevention. This appointment marks the CDSA’s acknowledgement of T&A Marine's technical expertise and social responsibility, and further highlights Captain Huang's key role in advancing practical solutions for ship pollution control.
Since 2009, Captain Huang has been involved in the
response to over 50 major domestic and international maritime accidents,
accumulating extensive experience in oil spill emergency response and pollution
prevention and control. Furthermore, Captain Huang has actively contributed to
the development and promotion of industry standards, offering valuable insights
and suggestions for developing and refining fair, just and reasonable ship
pollution response agreements and tariffs.
Captain Huang stated, “Ship pollution prevention is a key link in safeguarding the marine environment and ensuring the healthy development of the shipping industry. This appointment is not only an honor but also a responsibility. Moving forward, I will continue to uphold a professional and rigorous approach, actively participate in the committee’s initiatives, and contribute to the cause of ship pollution prevention.”
